Not a 2+2, and not totally correct, but a desirable car nonetheless. On Ebay:

"...a correct shroud that features a nicely placed "421" emblem,
a new for 1965 Turbo-Hydramatic transmission ...' what, yech!...... automatic.....?

Wow, these incorrect things keep showing up on 65s
,,,these....... 'low optioned...'....

by someones opinion........... automatics,,,,"

....convertibles.....whats that, can't race in that...

let's see, when the top goes down, the price goes.....

but then, weekend warrior/racers... there are some who like other aspects/aesthetics of our 2plus2s,,,

If you're referring to the correctness of the 421 emblem on the fan guard, I have to agree with you. In my experience, there is little that stirs more disagreement than whether the 421 emblem was correct on a '65, or - as I am convinced - a '66 item only. I have had some '65 owners who bought their car new (or almost new) swear that it was on the car when they bought it, and others who said it was not. My '65 was completely original (except for exterior paint) when I purchased it, and there are no holes for an emblem. It looks so cool on the car that many have been added, but I am 95% certain that they were not a factory correct item. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

As for the convertible /auto thing, it makes for a great cruiser. not my style - I actually prefer the look of the coupe, and shifting through the gears is a must - but if this were a Catalina (non-2+2) coupe it would go for many thousands $$$ less.

the 4speed and automatic hardtops are also awesome! I believe that Jim Wangers said to me years ago(at Maple Grove) that things like 421 emblems and pinstripes 3duece vs large air cleaner were sometimes add-ons which varied from factory to factory or dealerships....

Actually the pinstripes on the 2+2 were applied at the factory, and were part of the 2+2 package.

The air cleaners were specific to each engine option:
single louvered chrome air cleaner, no snorkels (identical to that on the GTO & Corvette) on the WG & YH 338HP 4-BBL engine
single large dual snorkel on the 356HP WH & YJ code Tri-Power
three individual chrome cleaners (GTO style) on the WJ & YK 376HP H.O. engines.

I personally prefer the look of the individual air cleaners, and have fitted them to my car and set the original dual snorkel cleaner in storage. It shows off the "jewelry" much better, but - ironically - doesn't breathe as well as the big one.
