Grille paint 13 Years, 3 Months ago
I own a 1965 Catalina 2+2 hardtop. I am going to touch up (restore)RH & LH grilles this winter. Looks like the inner flat part of the grilles are painted a silver and the finned part of the grilles are blacked out. Is this the way the factory did it? Also, does anybody have paint codes or specific paint brands you used. Thanks for any help.

That is correct. Use any good quality semi-gloss black. I've found good results with Dupli-Color engine paint - very durable. For the silver use Eastwood #1291Z Argent Silver Wheel Paint. It gives the correct textured finish.
Lot of masking time, but it should turn out great. Good luck.
