The Pontiac 2+2 Registry and this website were created out of a love for the marque, with the goal of creating a meeting place and source of information for those who share that passion. It's a hobby, not a business, and is being funded by the Webmaster. Many thanks to Don Potter at Garnet Design Group for his generous donation of time and expertise in website development.
I would like to keep this a free site, but would welcome any donations if you choose to lend your support.

car originally came with dealer installed hood tach, carpet and floor mats, low fuel warning light, cornering lamps, manual steering, manual drum brakes,am radio with rear seat speaker,428 HO WJ code, 4:33 posi with close ratio 4 speed with console. seats are pearlized parchment with reclining passenger seat with headrests, door edge guards and rocker trim. There are a few option codes we have not been able to decipher. I added the dealer installed hood pins on my replacement hood. The original hood is in the garage. The car was/will be Tyrol Blue again. You can see the original color on the hood tach where I have sanded it.The second owner changed the color to the burgundy and THREW AWAY ALL THE TRIM! Since then I have managed to get all the pieces together. The original owner put a 65 GTO tripower on it. I have since changed that to a '66 setup with a Melling SPC-8 camshaft (Ram Air IV) with excellent results. The dealer install hood pins are extremely cheap But they are correct in both '67 and '68 but a very scarce item to find in junkyards. I managed to get mine off a wrecked 67 Catalina convertible heading to the crusher back in 1987. It too was a Tyrol Blue convertible. Most 2+2 parts cars I have located in junkyards have been wrapped around light poles or trees.I did also make a template for the hood pins for proper placement.
The factory nodular iron engine has been restored to original condition and a very scarce, high nickel 1967 GME block was acquired new in the box from a former Pontiac parts man and is now completely built with a modified tripower and will be my driving engine allowing me to display the original on a stand as a running model. |
